Report on materials, processes and tools upgrades needed for pilot line processing (D4.6, M39 - December 2025)

This deliverable focuses on upgrading key equipment and materials to enable pilot-line production of perovskite/Si tandem solar modules at QC. CSEM optimized the slot-die coater to improve film uniformity and reduce edge effects. MASS and QC upgraded the tabber & stringer to enhance wire handling, electrically conductive adhesive curing, pressing precision, and cooling for fragile perovskite layers, while minimizing shading and material usage. TS redesigned the laminator’s curing chamber to achieve uniform temperature distribution across all levels. PCCL and YPA reviewed encapsulant films, selecting the best formulations for tandem modules, with lamination tests and accelerated aging ongoing. These efforts establish the foundation for scalable, high-yield pilot-line production while preserving device integrity.
