A Year of Collaborative Research: Anticipating PEPPERONI’s General Assembly

As PEPPERONI approaches celebrations of its first year, the consortium eagerly looks forward to the 2nd General Assembly and the first webinar focusing on “Unveiling PEPPERONI’s Perovskite/Silicon Tandem PV Ambitions.”

Hosted by CSEM in Neuchatel, Switzerland on 9-10 November, the assembly is set to serve as a pivotal platform for consortium members to discuss project progress, address challenges, and chart the course for the upcoming months of collaborative research and technology developments.

The agenda has been meticulously crafted to cover a range of critical subjects, including

  • the tandem solar cell and module pilot line,
  • manufacturing tools for pilot production,
  • tandem cell process integration,
  • module integration of high-efficiency tandems,
  • improvement and scalability of materials,
  • reliability and comprehensive testing, both indoors and outdoors.

Complementing these technical sessions are discussions on communication & dissemination, along with insights into efficient project management strategies.

Adding to the significance of the occasion, the assembly will also mark the one-year anniversary of the project’s initiation on November 1st, 2022.

To celebrate this milestone, the PEPPERONI project will launch its first webinar on November 10, 2023, the second day of the consortium gathering. This webinar promises a deep dive into PV technologies with the theme: “Empowering Future Solar Energy: Unveiling PEPPERONI’s Perovskite/Silicon Tandem PV Ambitions.” Dr. Fabian Fertig from Qcells, will share insights into advancements within the silicon PV industry and define requisites for perovskite-based PV to rival the current mainstream. PEPPERONI’s primary objective remains the development of tandem technology that meets these demanding requirements. Furthermore, Dr. Jeangros will present the latest strides in perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells, encompassing emerging contact materials, interface passivation strategies, and their seamless integration into high-efficiency devices. Prof. Stannowski (HZB) will introduce the PEPPERONI project, delving into the consortium’s ambitious aims. To conclude the webinar, we will open the floor to participants joining online and address questions from the audience.
