PEPPERONI General Assembly in Copenhagen sets course for final project phase

The PEPPERONI consortium convened for its General Assembly (GA) on 15-16 April 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The meeting, hosted by FOM Technologies, brought together more than 25 project partners to align on the remaining technical, operational and strategic steps in the final months of the project that will conclude in October 2026. The GA followed a review meeting with the Project Officer held in February 2026 at the premises of Qcells in Germany, where partners also visited the pilot line developed within the project. The outcomes of this review were shared during the Copenhagen meeting, passing the overall positive feedback on the PEPPERONI progress and trajectory to advance perovskite/silicon PV technology.

The two-day meeting combined comprehensive project discussions with hands-on insights into industrial implementation. On the first day, partners reviewed the overall project status, coordination activities and progress across work packages, including communication, dissemination and exploitation efforts. Dedicated poster sessions enabled in-depth exchanges on cell- and module-level developments, as well as pilot line progress and integration activities, fostering cross-work package alignment.

A highlight of the GA was the second day, offering participants the opportunity to visit FOM’s headquarters and production facilities. During the guided factory tour, FOM demonstrated its latest equipment updates: a wafer roll-to-plate slot-die coating tool engineered to deposit solution-processed thin films, including perovskite precursor layers, onto individual silicon wafers. The system is designed to operate at industrial throughput while maintaining high film quality. The manufacturing equipment developments in PEPEPRONI, including one presented by FOM, contribute towards bridging the gap between research and large-scale manufacturing in next-generation PV technologies in Europe.
