PEPPERONI partners showcase perovskite technology at international conferences

September 2025 is a promising month for the PEPPERONI project with several posters and presentations scheduled at three international conferences: The 8th International Conference on Perovskite Solar Cells and Optoelectronics (PSCO), the 42nd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC) and ISOS 16, the International Summit on Organic and Hybrid Photovoltaics Stability. Participating partners are focusing on recent achievements towards perovskite solar cells and perovskite-silicon tandem photovoltaic (PV) technology.

The 8th International Conference on Perovskite Solar Cells and Optoelectronics (PSCO)

Taking place from 15-18 September 2025 in Perugia, Italy, this event provides an opportunity to gather knowledge from experts and facilitates the development and commercialisation of European PV modules. This year, the topics are perovskite solar cells and optoelectronics. On 18 September 2025, there will be an optional industry workshop where the industrialisation of PV Thin Film Technology will be the subject of the discussion.

Dr. Ricardo Razera from CSEM will showcase a poster on the “Impact of solvent system and quenching kinetics on light soaking stability of perovskite solar cells“, while Dr. Tadas Malinauskas from the Kaunas University of Technology will present  on “Electron and hole selective self-assembling monolayers for perovskite solar cells“.

The 42nd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC)

Taking place from 22-26 September 2025 in Bilbao, Spain, this event presents the largest international conference for PV research and applications and is at the same time a PV Industry Exhibition where the specialized PV industry shows technologies, innovation, and new concepts in the upstream PV sector.

PEPPERONI technology development coordinator Dr. Fabian Fertig from Qcells Europe will give a talk about “World-Record Industrial Tandem Solar Cells on M10 Wafer Size” at 10:30am on Wednesday, 24 September 2025, in Auditorium 2. His presentation, the first within the plenary sessions on “Perovskite–Silicon Tandems: Towards Commercialisation & PV Stability in the Field”, will showcase high efficiency results and cutting-edge achievements from the pilot line.

Together with project partners Dr. Gernot Oreski and Dr. Petra Christöfl from Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmbH (PCCL), Dr. Fabian Fertig will also be handing out project flyers and discuss the newest updates as mentioned in PEPPERONI’s 3rd newsletter at Booth F6. This joint booth will also host other EU-funded projects from the perovskite network, including DIAMONDLAPERITIVO, LUMINOSITY, NEXUS, PEARL, SuPerTandem, TESTARE, TRIUMPH, VALHALLA, and VIPERLAB.

Further contributions from PEPPERONI partner Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin (HZB) will be presented with two presentations/talks focusing on perovskite solar cell testing, notably “Spatially Non-Uniform Degradation in Perovskite Solar Cells after Indoor and Outdoor Aging” from 17:00-18:30 on 24 September 2025 and “Seasonality in Single-Junction Perovskite Solar Cells: Insights from 4 Years of Outdoor Data” from 10:30-12:00 on 25 September 2025.

ISOS 16 | International Summit on Organic and Hybrid Photovoltaics Stability

Taking place from 29 September until 1 October 2025 in Genk, Belgium, this events offers additional opportunities to learn about recent developments in PV technology. Roundtables, exclusive EnergyVille lab visits and sessions on encapsulation and outdoor degradation, testing protocols, intrinsic stability, low-power PV, indoor-degradation experiments as well as AI, Modelling and FAIR data, make this summit an excellent platform for scientific discussions.

More upcoming events

In October, the 13th Metallization & Interconnection (MIW) Workshop will take place from 20 – 21 October 2025 in Berlin-Adlershof, Germany. This year’s edition includes a special PEPPERONI industry session focused on perovskite solar cells hosted by PEPPERONI partners from Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin and project coordinator Bernd Stannowski with a dive deep into the challenges and innovations in the metallization of perovskite-based solar cells, one of the most exciting frontiers in PV research.
