PEPPERONI represented at PV CellTech on 15th March 2023

The PV CellTech conference was established in 2016 and for the first few years was always held in Malaysia. After two years of online-only editions in 2020 and 2021 the conference was held in a hybrid format in 2022, online and on-site in Berlin, Germany. The 2023 edition repeats this successful setting with excellent opportunities for in-person exchange and networking for those joining on 14-15 March on-site in Berlin.

PV CellTech is an industry-focussed event that promises to be one of the “must-attend” meetings of the year tackling key aspects of PV cell technology including:

  • cell production technologies and processing steps,
  • efficiency and cost reduction at the GW level,
  • supply chains and raw materials in cell manufacturing,
  • and last but not least, tandem & hybrid cell concepts.

PEPPERONI contributes

Exactly within the session on Tandem & Hybrid Cell Concepts: Pilot Line & Technology–Transfer Activity, PEPPERONI’s coordinator Bernd Stannowski from Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin will talk about “Challenges in upscaling of monolithic perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells“.

Prof. Stannowski will dive into steps that need to be taken before solar cell production can make the move to tandem or advanced hybrid concepts at the 10-GW-plus level. Participants will also learn about the PEPPERONI project, including its aim to speed up the market uptake of PV perovskite/silicon tandem technology through the development of a pilot line. They will also have an opportunity to get insights from innovative research and development activities implemented in the project.

It is also worth mentioning that Jörg Müller from partnering in PEPPERONI Qcells also contributes to the event within the opening session on Global PV Cell Production Technologies in 2023.
